Warwickshire-based luxury house builder Spitfire Property Group has appointed a new director to assist with the company’s rapid growth and help it expand into the south of the country.

Doug Glassford has been appointed to the role of Technical and Construction Director and will oversee the whole construction process – from planning and approval through to on-site construction and customer care.

Doug brings with him many years of experience in the house building industry and said “It’s a real honour to join Spitfire. The company is very enthusiastic and has the potential to be extremely successful. I want to use my experience to help take it forward. Spitfire concentrates on a custom built approach, offering individual site specific solutions to upmarket locations.”

Doug has joined from CALA Homes, where he was Architectural Manager for nine years. Prior to that post he worked at Redrow and David Wilson Homes.

The appointments come as Spitfire enjoys success despite a tough market. All but 1 of the luxury three and four bedroomed properties at its Mill Hollow development in Dorridge, West Midlands, have sold since going on the market just three months ago. Sales rates at its Broadway Cottages scheme in Chalgrove, Oxfordshire, also far exceeded expectations, with all properties snapped up within weeks.

Other schemes underway include the soon-to-be-launched 9 three and four-bedroom contemporary townhouses at The Forum scheme in Lewis Lane, Cirencester. Additionally, planning permissions have recently been obtained for further developments in Dorridge, Moreton-in-Marsh and Cheltenham, whilst planning applications have been submitted for developments in Knowle, Stratford-upon-Avon and a second scheme in Cheltenham.
