COVID-19: An update

Throughout the current Coronoavirus pandemic, Spitfire Bespoke Homes continues to monitor the situation on a daily basis. The safety of our customers, staff and suppliers remains paramount and we will continue to follow the guidelines and advice of Government and the World Health Organisation.

On Monday 23 March, Prime Minister Boris Johnson introduced a series of more stringent measures to help tackle the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak. In order to help contain the spread of the disease, we expect all staff, suppliers and customers to act responsibly by respecting and adhering to Government guidance.

With regards to our operations, despite advice from Communities Secretary, Robert Jenrick, and Cabinet Minister, Michael Gove, stating that construction sites can remain open, for the wellbeing of our staff, suppliers and customers we have taken the decision to begin the process of closing our sites. This means that over the coming days, construction will be paused and show homes and sales offices will be closed. This closedown process will take place over the following days, as some work will be required to ensure that our sites are left in a safe, secure and responsible state.

We will be contacting customers who are scheduled to complete on the purchase of a new home with us in the coming days, to accommodate this where it is responsible and safe to do so.

Office-based employees will continue to work from home.

Customers

Visiting sales offices & show homes

All sales offices and show homes are currently closed to ensure the safety of our customers and staff. For information regarding any of our properties, please refer to our New Homes Collection. If you wish to make a specific enquiry, you can do so through the site webpage, or by submitting a form on our Contact page.

Existing customers

For customers scheduled to complete on the purchase of a new home, we will contact you shortly to provide an update on the situation and discuss a route forwards.

If you are currently within your 2-year Homeowner Warranty and have an issue with your home which requires our attention, please be aware that for the safety of both our customers and our staff we will not be attending to any non-emergency items at this time. If you do have an emergency issue regarding your property, we will still attend to these appointments. This measure is in line with social distancing guidelines and we thank you for your understanding.

You can still report non-emergency issues via our website, and these items will be reviewed and prioritised by our Customer Care team for resolution once the current Government restrictions have been lifted.

If you have an appointment scheduled to attend to an emergency item, but you are currently self-isolating then it is imperative that you inform us of this in advance, so we can rearrange.

Staff

Office-based employees

For the foreseeable future, our office-based staff will work from home. We have a number of measures in place to ensure that home working is both practical and effective. Operations may be limited slightly, by the postponement or cancellation of all face-to-face meetings, however staff will continue to work remotely, utilising technology to fulfil their roles.

Our Solihull office, The Gate, will be closed until further notice. If you have a meeting scheduled, please contact the organiser for alternative arrangements.

Site-based teams

All sites will remain closed until further notice. This is a decision we have taken to protect our staff and suppliers during these unprecedented times. This means that construction will be paused and show homes and sales offices will be closed (see previous section for details).

Suppliers and subcontractors

We will continue to work closely with suppliers and subcontractors during this difficult time.

We recognise that these are testing times for all businesses and as on-site production is halted, we will be in communication with our supply chain to manage the situation and ensure that we can return to business in a timely and effective manner once the current COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted.

In these unprecedented times we hope you remain safe and healthy and we thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to work through the challenges surrounding COVID-19.
